Sandefjord have cancelled a friendly match against Fredrikstad scheduled for this weekend. The club made the decision on Friday as an injury crisis continues to mount.

The sporting apparatus of Sandefjord Fotball has decided to cancel tomorrow's training match against Fredrikstad, the club said in a statement. The reason is several long-term injuries, new injuries that have arisen during the week, and three players being away on international duty. The match was to be played at Jotun Arena to keep players sharp during the prolonged international break.

It is regrettable that we have to cancel the match, but we must put the health of our players first, given how the situation has developed recently, said Sandefjord Fotball. The club also apologised to Fredrikstad for the cancellation and any potential disruption to their training schedule.

The decision comes with Sandefjord sitting 11th in the Eliteserien table with 23 points from 21 games. They are just two points above the relegation qualification spot held by Aalesund. Their next competitive fixture is away to Rosenborg on October 10th, and their last five results show one win, two draws and two defeats. With a thin squad, every player must be ready for the key league match against Rosenborg in a week's time.
