Sandefjord has appointed Arne Dokken as their new manager for the next three seasons. Dokken is an experienced manager with 24 international appearances for Norway and has previously managed Åssiden and Strømsgodset. He will be joined by Geir Amundsen as assistant and sports director. The club is also in talks with Bo Augustsson about the role of assistant coach and player and talent developer. Augustsson has worked at Feyenoord and Malmö FF and has international appearances for Sweden. Arne Dokken has won ten league and cup titles in Norway as a player, manager and leader. He is also a Greek cup winner with Panathinaikos and was the top scorer in Norway in 1975 and 1980. Sandefjord writes in a press release that the club now wants to build on the positive results achieved under managers Trond Skrede and Tom Nordlie. Skrede was responsible for the establishment phase and had a good relationship with many of the club's young players. Nordlie was chosen to create a top football culture in the club and to establish a clear playing style for the team. Sandefjord wants to further emphasize the development of existing players and start a project to develop young players. Sandefjord wants to start an active and targeted process to develop young talents from the city and county. It is also emphasized that regardless of whether it is promotion or continued play in the 1st division, the club does not have the economic ability to buy a good team beyond strengthening in some positions. Sandefjord will focus on the existing player squad and provide the team with coaching resources within player development. Arne Dokken has played for Åssiden, Strømsgodset, Lillestrøm, Panathinaikos, Apollon Aten and Rosenborg. He is 48 years old and has a long experience as a player and manager. Dokken is also known for his ability to develop young players and has a good understanding of the Norwegian football environment. Sandefjord hopes that Dokken can bring stability and success to the club in the coming seasons. The club will also focus on developing its own youth department and giving young players the opportunity to develop into professional football players. This is an important part of Sandefjord's strategy for the future and the club hopes that it can contribute to creating a strong and stable club that can compete with the best teams in Norway.
