Sandefjord player Martin Gjone has been selected for the U20 national team to face Chile on November 18. This is a great opportunity for the 19-year-old player, who has had an impressive season for Sandefjord. Gjone played a key role in Sandefjord's win over KFUM Oslo at home on Jotun Arena on Sunday. He scored the equalizer with a header when there were 25 minutes left to play. National team coach Luis Pimenta says that this is an important experience for the players, who get to face opponents from different continents and experience different types of playing styles and football cultures. Gjone has patiently gone through the ranks in Sandefjord and made his debut in the top division on April 21 this year. He now forms part of Sandefjord's defense along with Vetle Walle Egeli and Fredrik Berglie. Gjone celebrated his goal against KFUM with a somersault and says it was great fun. He now hopes to have more to celebrate in the future, also with the national team flag on his chest. Sandefjord has had a good season so far and hopes to continue doing well. With Gjone on the U20 national team, they can hope for even more success in the future.
